Cooperation on improving the teaching of the mother tongue
Ambassador Vesna Ćužić, met representatives of the Association of BH citizens in Sweden APU networks and representatives of the Institute for Language in Sarajevo in the BiH Embassy in Stockholm
The meeting was also attended by the four mother tongue teachers employed in Swedish schools.
The topic of the meeting was improvement of the quality of teaching of the mother tongue and possible cooperation of the BiH citizens associations and the Institute for Language.
At the beginning of the meeting, the APU network and teachers informed about the way the teaching of the mother tongue is organized in Swedish schools, activities of the BH citizens’ associations on the issue and problems that the diaspora faces when it comes to the organization and the quality of teaching of the mother tongue.
Representatives of the Institute of language made their knowledge, experience and expertise available and proposed to start the cooperation by organizing a conference that would gathered teachers of the mother tongue from all over Sweden. It’s aim would be to define the guidelines and objectives of cooperation in the field of improving the teaching of the mother tongue and the ways of motivating of children and their parents for its learning.
At the end of the meeting representatives of the Institute for Language dr. Alen Kalajdžija, director of the Institute, MSc. Aida Kršo, prof. Hadžem Hajdarevic, associate and Muhidin Colic, external collaborator donated the BiH Embassy in Stockholm copy of “orthographic manual Bosnian / Croatian / Serbian language with the basics of grammar”, which was presented in Stockholm in April this year.
